November of 2004 I moved to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic in response to a call from the one and only Living God. "God has not called us to do what seems possible, reasonable or normally attainable; He has called us to do the impossible. He wants us to stretch beyond our ability, our faith & our capacity to reason. He wants to do more in & through us than we could ever imagine or dream… To accomplish our calling, we must put our hand in the hand of God, learning to be completely dependent on the Holy Spirit for everything" (from God Revealed by Graham Cooke). As I reflect back on this time, I see many moments that are beyond me & who I am. Moments in which God in His amazing & unfailing love has chosen to use me as an instrument, a simple member of His body to do small things. The Dominican Republic is now familiar and a home for me because it is where my Heavenly Father has placed me. I love life here! Not every moment is victory & roses, but I am convinced that God is the One & Only Living God, that God is good & that while God is not always "safe" in our consideration, that He is always faithful!

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Our always constant, never-changing God loves to do new things. That's what revival is, the new and fresh move of the Eternal God over a people group. There has never been a documented revival in the Dominican Republic. The church of Jesus Christ in this land is however crying out for that revival. Join me in thinking about it… something that has never lived cannot be revived. Henceforth, the revival has to do with the church first; salvation coming to the lost is a response to witnessing the rebirth and manifestation of God's holiness anew in us who make up the Body of Christ. I am currently working with a local church, Fraternidad Cristiana Amor a Quisqueya (Christian Brotherhood, Love to Whomever, a church plant of the Catacumbas (Catacombs) in Puerto Rico). After serving an almost complete three years with Students International (www.stint.com) in the area of Art, God redefined my position of ministry. Since September of 2007 I have been stepping into new roles here within the church body that I have been a part of the last three years. The land is not all that foreign, I feel like Joshua & Caleb might have felt when they stepped into the promised land - they had been there as spies & knew some of what to expect, but at the same time there were new battles, each of which to be fought with strategies depending on the leading voice of that same Constant God of all Ages. May His Kingdom come & His will be done, on this earth… in the Dominican Republic… in my life… Jesus is coming soon. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

Details of my current position:
Director of Integration- I oversee the monitoring & discipleship of new believers as the program is designed to integrate new members into the local body of believers.
Cell Group Leader- I am the leader for our local small group. The church has eleven different small groups, which cover the sectors of the city. I have been a participant in the cell group where I am currently leading since moving to that neighborhood September 2006. We meet once weekly for a time of prayer, worship & Bible study.
Supervisor of Media- I oversee the scheduling & execution of the small team that runs the projector every service, make sure all the equipment is up-to-date & properly functioning & also serve as the “un-official” photographer for most special events.
Worship Team- I have participated on the worship team (back-up singing & leading at a daughter congregation in the mountains) since fall of 2005. Starting July 2007 I am part of the rotation for leading the time of praise & worship in our Sunday services. As I stepped into working directly with the church I have also been placed in charge of the vocal aspect of the team, doing voice training & working with back-up parts with some of the developing singers in the church.
